It's particularly nice there this time of year. Here's our "front yard," where the geese live. Speaking of the geese, that situation has gotten a little out of control. There are way more than two families now (five, at least), and due to my willingness to run outside and feed them whenever they pass through, they often congregate outside my study window looking for handouts. It's probably really grossing the neighbors out, but I love it.
My favorite family is one with seven goslings -- actually seven plus an extra one, apparently adopted, who's significantly bigger than his siblings and often muscles them out of the way for breadcrumbs.

Anyway, you can't see it in the picture, but there are tons of pink roses growing wild on the bank of the pond. I've been decorating with them.

Okay, enough with the Martha Stewart stuff. Tomorrow it's more shopping in Buckhead (okay, shopping is one thing that's nicer in Atlanta), then back to Birmingham, and then a short international jaunt next week.
